Hiiii people! It's been a while. Just a little catch-up to let you know what I've been up to before my next article.
So, I started writing another article but thought to do this first since it's been a year plus since I wrote my last article. I've been up to several things so let's see…
My First Internship
Lol. I actually wrote an article on this but I never got around to publishing it (Maybe I will one day)😅. I completed my first internship. It was meant to be for 6 months but it got elongated (it was a paid Internship). The overall experience was an amazing one. I was the only female intern. I and the backend intern bonded over a few occasions. We are still rolling together. I got to learn a lot from my team and from my company it was a great experience the only con was the bad communication.
The In-Between
I started a job and resigned after a week🤧 (no fault from the company). I tried to live by the proverb "Where there's a will there's a way" but I guess that isn't always the case. During the same period, I worked on another project and also started an on-site internship. There was no pay for the on-site internship, but after a while, my bosses said I'm too good for them not to pay me💀 (not those exact words though😅). I completed my contract as a junior developer, got myself a system, volunteered on a few projects, did a few side gigs, etcetera etcetera etcetera.
And Now
I work as a front-end developer at a great company with great work culture, a great boss, a great team, and still the only girl on the dev team (seems that's a thing to me).
This year has had a lot of good and bad. I made new friends, received a lot of good news, received a lot of "unfortunately" (some didn't even come), and got a job where the contract hung in the air. I was happy, sad, angry, overjoyed, hopeless, hopeful, regretful, thankful, and many more.
One take is, with everything that has happened, I have been proud of my journey so far and I am grateful to everyone that has contributed to it in one way or another. I may be regretting a thing or 2 but that's what makes me human. making mistakes. A Knight once told me:
Making mistakes as a human is just living. And that is the joy of it. Perfection is not entertaining.
I'm thankful to God cause honestly, I was close to giving up. I'm thankful to those who have blessed me and my journey. And I'm thankful to those who supported and pushed. An exceptional thanks to my eldest sister. She did everything she could and is still doing everything she can to help me achieve my dream🤎.
That's it for now! I look forward to having an amazing time in the year 2023. Cheers to the great things that are about to happen.
